How long have you worked at Tidcombe?

I have worked at Tidcombe for 31 years.

Q. Do you lead a subject?

I lead Tidcombe Sunbeams which is the Early Years within Tidcombe primary School. I also lead Art and Design and Technology.

Q. Do you have a favourite subject?

My favourite subject is art. It is a subject which enables such creativity and joy.

Q. Have you had any careers aside from teaching?

No. I worked in a toy shop when I was school but teaching has always been my job and my vocation.

Q. What is your favourite book?

One of my favourite books ( I have many!) is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I like the language within the book and the wildness of it all.

Q. What makes Tidcombe special?

Tidcombe is a very special place to me as I have worked there for so long. It is truly unique for its exceptional care of children and for its creativity and  the wealth of experiences that it provides. The Early Years department is particularly dear to me for the amazing start it gives the youngest children in the school.

Q. Recommend one thing to do in the area for someone who has recently moved here.

I love gardening and growing flowers. A favourite place to visit is Rosemoor  Gardens. You can visit at all times of the year and see the changing seasons and how it affects gardens and nature in general. It is peaceful and a lovely escape from the busy world!
